Peshay unleashes · Supernova (Edit)

Taken from forthcoming two part new album Re·View

Peshay has released his latest single, Supernova (Edit). This is the first single to be released from and, and also annouces, the new two part album Re·View. Supernova (Edit) is a dancefloor soundtrack to an epic outer space voyage. It’s one of those visual sounding, other worldly tracks, that conjures up images of deep space. Supernova (Edit) was made after watching a documentary about unknown deep space, planets, stars and nebulae of interstellar clouds of gas and dust. Inspired, Peshay thought about making an ambient type of soundtrack, mystical and powerful. “I really enjoy making these types of tracks, ones that make you see images when you hear them” says Peshay.

Supernova (Edit) starts off calmly, progressing to an auditory ethereal panorama. Layer after layer is added to make an ambience of sound, that builds and builds to a crescendo until the bass drops. Peshay takes us on a journey through the galaxies, a soundscape through time and space. Supernova (Edit) is also a nod back to Peshay’s Good Looking Records days. It’s extremely reminiscent of the infamous ambient drum and bass sound that was synonymous with GLR back in the 90s. Peshay was one of the originators of that early GLR sound, with tracks such as “Piano Tune”, “Vocal Tune” and his collab with LTJ Bukem “19.5.”

Supernova (Edit) Revisits the golden years of drum and bass

“Making Supernova (Edit) really took me back to those days, great memories, never to be forgotten” says Peshay. With Supernova (Edit) Peshay is yet again displaying his prowess as a producer and arranger, showcasing his unique style and technique.

It’s this track, and a few others in the pipeline, that prompted the new album “Re·View.” Billed as a two part album Re·View will be a collection of special edits that Peshay has remastered to revisit some of the earlier tracks on Peshay Music. “I had the idea to remaster these tracks from earlier earlier on in the life cycle of the label” says Peshay. “The world has changed so much in the last five years, its almost unrecognisable in so many ways.” “However, as cliched as it might be, we always need good music to get us through the tough times to appreciate the good.”
